abstract
Progressive phosphorylation of circadian clock proteins is a hallmark of time-keeping. In this issue of Molecular Cell, Querfurth etal. (2011) demonstrate that phosphorylation of Neurospora FRQ inducesa conformational change, which can account for its temporally gated degradation.
