abstract
We review our recent work towards extending quantum control techniques developed in AMO physics to manipulate quantum systems in the solid-state. These systems feature a number of unique opportunities and difficult challenges. Specifically we describe our efforts toward understanding and controlling the complex environment of solid-state quantum bits, coupling them over macroscopic distances as well as ideas for scaling to multi-qubit systems. 2006 American Institute of Physics.
