abstract
We have recently developed the method of cavity-enhanced photothermal spectroscopy and have applied it to perform ultra-sensitive absorption measurements of liquid surfaces and thin films. Both spectral and time-resolved photothermal measurements are presented. We have also studied the spatial and temperature resolution of cavity-enhanced photothermal spectroscopy using various thin samples and ruled gratings. Numerical solutions have been obtained for the general three-dimensional case and are compared to the measurements. 1991.
