abstract
We consider compactifications of eleven-dimensional supergravity to five and three spacetime dimensions, on internal spaces K6 and K2K6, where Kn denotes an n-dimensional Khler manifold. The compactifications to five dimensions yield no surviving spacetime supersymmetries. However, we find compactifications to three dimensions on S2K6 and T2K6 where K6 is Ricci-flat and Khler (a Calabi-Yau space) with N=4 supersymmetry. We also discuss the massless spectrum. 1989 Springer-Verlag.
