A 0-90 degrees Low-Loss Miniaturized Reflective-Type CMOS Phase Shifter Using Active Inductors Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • This paper presents a fully integrated reflective-type phase shifter (RTPS) using active inductors in 0.18m CMOS technology. Due to employing active inductors, the proposed phase shifter is extremely compact and has very low loss. It has an insertion loss better than 1.5 dB which is lower than the loss of other reported integrated RTPS ( 7-20 dB) on CMOS. The active phase shifter is capable of providing 0-90 phase shift, while having matching better than 14 dB in the operating bandwidth of 2.3 - 2.5 GHz. The phase shifter consumes 12-13.5 mW from a 1.8 V power supply. The estimated area (< 0.2 mm2) shows this phase shifter is the smallest CMOS RTPS reported. 2009 IEEE.
