• Paui has shown irom an anaiyis oi experiment& dab that there is a djscrepancy between a erfcrosssectionforK-sheUionization ofatoms byfast protons andafiniteHilhert basisstateealdation. In thispaper thelattermethodisshown to give excellent agreement with a basis free calculation using Hartre-Fock continuum slates for first Bom SCA cross sections.
