abstract
It is generally accepted that molecular motors are utilizing the chemical energy of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) hydrolysis to convert it to the mechanical energy. A set of preliminary data demonstrates that the periodic electric field can induce transport as well, thus providing the energy to the molecular system. 2009 SPIE.
