abstract
A method to measure third-order nonlinear susceptibilities of liquids was demonstrated. It was shown that nonlinear optical susceptibility increased with the concentration of sodium chloride in water. The proposed technique was demonstrated for various solution, both transparent and scattering, and found in good aggreement with data obtained by other means.
