This chapter discusses the issues in modeling, simulation, and control for contemporary manufacturing environments. The modeling tools classified as "advanced" refer to the family of tools that are able to be used in the subsequent simulation activities. The chapter introduces a new and efficient modeling framework for designing large-scale manufacturing processes to address some of the issues. It illustrates the use of the modeling and simulation framework to effectively perform dynamic process control. The chapter discusses about the representation of Fuzzy colored Petri Net with stochastic time delay (FCPN)-std model using the eXtensible Petri Net Markup Language (xPNML) format. It provides the definition of FCPN-std framework and its modular concept supporting large-scale processes modeling. This chapter explains the development of an FCPN-std model of a small manufacturing system and the use of FCPN-std to simulate the dynamic content of the system with the goal of performing some control functions.
