abstract
Data for the inelastic scattering of 30 MeV protons from various nuclei are analysed using the collective-model interaction and the distorted-wave approximation. The real, imaginary, spin-orbit and Coulomb parts of the potential are all deformed. The deformation parameters extracted are in good agreement with those obtained from other measurements. A microscopic description of the scattering from 40Ca is also discussed. 1968 North-Holland Publishing Co., Amsterdam.
