abstract

• AbstractIn this paper, the free transverse vibrations of rectangular orthotropic plates with completely free boundary conditions are considered. Some methodologies for calculating the eigenfrequencies and eigenmodes, based on the classical thin plate theory are presented in a comparative overview. The advantages and disadvantages of these methodologies are discussed for an orthotropic plate application with specific material and geometric properties.
