abstract
This paper builds on previous work investigating least cost shipment and storage of cotton from Texas, the largest U.S. producer of cotton. The model is used to analyze the effects of reduced export demand on shipping patterns and costs to the overall cotton transportation system. In addition, we apply road deterioration parameters from the literature to derive rough estimates of impacts of public roads. (2009) by the Transportation Research Forum All rights reserved.
