abstract
This paper describes an algorithm for generating unit planned outage modeling in the extended decomposition-simulation approach for multi-area reliability calculations. A brief description of the extended decomposition-simulation approach is presented. Then, the algorithm for generating unit planned outage modeling is described. The algorithm is based on a single-step decomposition of the state space, and greatly reduces the computational requirements of the approach while producing accurate results.
