abstract

• 2016 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group. A comparative study is presented for the latest bio-inspired optimization algorithms, known as bacterial foraging, firefly, cuckoo search, krill herd, and cuttlefish algorithms. This study also included the more established genetic and particle swarm optimization methods. These algorithms are then applied to a partial-fraction model fitting of tabulated measured dielectric function data for noble metals at optical wavelengths.
