COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN PROCEDURE FOR MARINE PROPELLERS. Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • This paper describes the procedure carried out in Paris, at the Bassin d'Essais des Carenes, to produce an optimum naval propeller. Computers are used at all stages of the project, The computer controls the wake measurement tests, organises the data and displays the shape of the wake field together with secondary flows. The various data gathered are then processed using different design codes. A preliminary propeller design is worked out from statistical studies based on the B series or the Ka series. The final design of the propeller is worked out by a code based on the singularity method.
