A new least-squares transport equation compatible with voids Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • We define a new least-squares transport equation that is applicable in voids, can be solved using source iteration with diffusion-synthetic acceleration, and requires only the solution of an independent set of second-order self-adjoint equations for each direction during each source iteration. We derive the equation, discretize it using the Sn method in conjuction with a linear-continuous finite-element method in space, and computationally demonstrate various of its properties.
