  • Copyright 2015 California Institute of Technology. Modified Chebyshev Picard Iteration is a numerical method for integrating Ordinary Differential Equations. MCPI in a serial setting has been shown to improve the speed of orbit propagation computations by orders of magnitude over current state-of-the-practice methods. This paper presents a parallel MCPI framework for integrating the equations of perturbed orbital motion. It consists of a parallelized set of serial MCPI instances running in a compute cluster environment. Additionally, a first order Taylor series gravity approximation method is presented that allows MCPI to propagate orbits in the vicinity of a reference trajectory with vastly decreased computational cost. Two applications of parallel propagation are demonstrated, satellite catalog propagation, and Monte Carlo analysis of a system of particles.
