abstract
An analytical optimal low-thrust control law was developed using pseudospectral methods. The new low-thrust control law was based on the state-transition matrix for linearized equations of motion and was applied to satellite formations. The control law also included an integral that involved a multiplication of the state-transition matrix and its transpose. It was observed that the control law can efficiently implemented in real time. The new control law also solved an optimal reconfiguration of a satellite formation with J 2 perturbations. The numerical results showed that the control law works well for optimal reconfiguration of satellite formation flying.
