Three-axis magnetic attitude control using pseudospectral control law Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • In this paper we investigate three-axis attitude stabilization using magnetic torque. The control problem is formulated as a linear quadratic regulator (LQR) and we use a pseudospectral method to discretize the linear time-varying (LTV) system. Then the LTV system with quadratic criteria is reduced to solving a set of linear algebraic equations. Our results show the three-axis attitude stabilization is achieved by using the pseudospectral control law via receding horizon control. The solutions from the pseudospectral control law are in excellent agreement with those obtained from solving the Riccati equations, but the computation speed improves by one order of magnitude. The dynamic responses demonstrate good performance and convergence.
