Polarization-independent two-port guided-wave electro-optically tunable wavelength bandpass filters were produced in Ti:LiNbO3. The device use simple symmetric branch beam splitters. The 3 dB optical bandwidth of 2.3 nm for a 10.5 mm interaction length was found. The results show that, narrower channel bandwidth and improved sidelobe suppression can be achieved by increasing the length of polarization conversion/tuning region and apodization of the polarization-converting strain pads.
