abstract
Flower Constellations is a novel methodology to design axial-symmetric satellite constellations whose satellites all belong to the same closed trajectory in a prescribed rotating reference frame. These constellations highlight the existence of new, unexpected, shape-preserving rigid-body objects rotating with specific angular velocities. In this paper, the fundamentals of Flower Constellations theory is revisited in a very general way and new important parameters, such as the "Flower Mean Anom aly" and the "Configuration Number," are derived to classify and describe the Flower Constellations.
