abstract
This paper addresses the problem of the design of suitable satellite constellation for Earth Observing applications. Two examples are considered. The first is the remote sensing missions for particular region with high frequency and small swath width. The second is the interferometry radar Earth observation missions. In the first example, the Flower Constellations are proposed as a solution. An algorithm is developed to find the constellation parameters starting from the mission requirements. In the second example, an optimization is performed using the Genetic Algorithms on the orbital parameters of the two orbits to find the best natural orbits that can be used.
