Large-span, non-contact surface profilometry for laminar-flow diagnostics Conference Paper uri icon


  • A portable, non-contact profilometer, capable of measuring roughness and other surface features of interest to laminar-flow experiments and laminar-flow aircraft, is presented. Methods for characterizing surface roughness in a physically meaningful manner are presented. Examples are provided from both experimental test subjects and a civilian aircraft.
