An automated technique for reliably extracting quantitative boundary-layer transition location from raw infrared (IR) images is presented. Robust metrics for quantifying transition front location are demonstrated. Methods for removal of sensor artifacts and environmental noise are discussed. Crossflow streaking is strongly evident in filtered images.
