abstract
The present study was undertaken to determine an efficient method for numerical solution of the complete set of equations describing the countercurrent backmixing model (CCBM) which takes into account the bubble size variation with height, and thus to check validity of approximate methods. Also an attempt has been made to determine a constant (effective) bubble diameter which can be used in CCBM for prediction of conversion.
