abstract
The attachment of mixed-valence transition metal complex molecules through linker molecules to the surface of silicon or other materials is studied. The effects of the linker molecules and the surface of silicon on the energy structure of mixed-valence transition metal complex molecules is also considered. The criteria for picking up suitable molecules for quantum dot cellular automata (QCA) cells is also discussed. It is stated that mixed-valence transition metal complexes are the candidates for fabrication of QCA cells for molecular computing.
