Scanned electrospinning of oriented zirconia nanofiber Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • We have demonstrated the fabrication of oriented Zirconia (ZrO2) nanofiber by a scanned electrospinning method. The electrospinning system is consisted of the rotational counter electrode and the composite polymer solution source. An electrostatic field between a counter electrode and a composite polymer solution source extrudes a continuous polymer jet that will be accumulated on the counter electrode as dried fibers. In this deposition process, the relative motion between the counter electrode and electrospinning source due to the rotational motion leads to the deposition of uniaxially aligned nanofibers. After the deposition process, ZrO2 nanofibers were obtained by calcination of the composite fibers.
