abstract
The paper presents a new method for the real-time simulation of the heart dynamics using the measured electrocardiogram (ECG) signal recording to activate the model. The model was able to discern the effect of variations in the electric potentials as captured by ECG features on the model outputs, including the profiles of instantaneous pressure and volumes in different chambers and circulation loops. The causal relationships between variations in ECG and the model outputs are valuable in diagnosing the pathological conditions because certain pathologies not easy to diagnose from the ECG patterns may be enhanced in the model outputs, such as pressure and volume signals.
