Special Session: Introduction to Systematic Reviews in Engineering Education Research Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • 2015 IEEE. Systematic reviews are a new, fundamentally different approach to synthesizing engineering education research. The primary goal of the session is to increase the awareness and knowledge of engineering educators about systematic review methods. Systematic review methods, widely used in fields such as medicine, psychology and education, have only recently been applied in engineering education to analyze the state of the art. The paper presents steps to illustrate processes involved in a systematic review, sources of standards for systematic reviews, and strategies for information retrieval.
