abstract
2015 Taylor & Francis. We present a study of the interaction of coherent field effects on population of two bound atomic states of a dense atomic gas interacting in a cooperative regime. We provide a theoretical description of this phenomenon using density matrix equations. We discuss the implications and applications of the present studies to quantum amplification by superradiant emission of radiation action. A classical model is developed to gain physical insights into qaser physics.
