abstract
A UHV cryostat for the quench condensation and in situ study of amorphous transition metal alloy thin films in the temperature range 1. 4 to 400K in magnetic fields to 7T is described. To demonstrate its capabilities, measurements of the upper critical field, H//c//2(T), and the Hall coefficient, R//H, for an amorphous 3-D series transition metal alloy, V//. //8//4 Ti//. //1//6 are presented.
