Anisotropic transport properties of the decagonal quasicrystal, Al70Ni15Co15 Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • The temperature dependence of the thermopower and electrical resistivity from 4.2 K to 300 K and the thermal conductivity from 60 K to 300 K along the periodic direction and the quasicrystalline plane is reported. The thermopower in the periodic direction is hole-like while that in the quasicrystalline plane is electron-like. The temperature dependence of thermal conductivity in the quasicrystalline plane suggests a substantial electronic contribution.
