Thermal conductivity of rare-earth nickel borocarbides Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • YNi2B2C and LuNi2B2C are relatively high Tc superconductors (TC=15.6K and 16.6K, respectively) for quaternary intermetallic compounds. Recent neutron scattering experiments show anomalous phonon behavior below Tc for both YNi2B2C and LuNi2B2C. Thermal conductivity measurements have been performed and indicate a strong enhancement below Tc in the thermal conductivity of LuNi2B2C, and a weaker enhancement below Tc for YNi2B2C which is similar to measurements previously reported by others for YNi2B2C. 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
