abstract
Single-phase superconducting Tl-2223 thin films with a predominate c-axis orientation normal to the substrate have been grown on LaAlO3 by high temperature (820C) diffusion of Tl into vapor co-deposited Ba-Ca-Cu-O precursors. Annealing and diffusion of Tl were conducted in a 98% Ar + 2% O2 by volume flowing gas mixture. Film quality depended strongly on the conditions of deposition for the precursor film.
