abstract
The problem of estimating kinetic parameters from integral reactor data is considered. The direct integral method is extended to rate models, where the parameters appear nonlinearly (e.g., Langmuir-Hinshelwood and Hougen-Watson kinetics). The main advantage is that no repeated numerical solution of the differential equations is required. Results show that in spite of its simplicity the direct integral method yields reasonable good estimates when applied to some kinetic models of practical importance. 1982.
