Beta-alpha correlation in the decay of 20Na uri icon

abstract

  • We have measured the - angular correlation in the allowed positron decay of 20Na to the 7.42 MeV state of 20Ne. The correlation is of the form 1 + a cos + p cos2. We find p = -0.003 0.005 in reasonable agreement with expectations based on the conserved vector current theory. 1977.
