Pure monoisomeric surfactants have been synthesized with the objective being to formulate cosolvent-free middle phase microemulsions at ambient temperature and at any required electrolyte concentration. The objective was attained when careful attention was paid to appropriate hydrophobe branching used in concert with the correct ethoxylation level. 1986.
