abstract

• Several experiments were carried out to study the effect of gravity on acid placement in horizontal wells. The experimental apparatus contained two pipe segments with adjustable inclination to simulate a high spot or a low spot in a normally horizontal well. The experimental results were used to characterize fluid placement in horizontal well acidizing and to verify a mathematical model developed previously.
