abstract
In this paper a new evaluation and prediction method for coating performance in sheet metal forming is presented. The method is developed based on the key characteristics of accelerated coating adhesion tests and sheet metal formability test. The investigation showed that strain states could influence the durability of coatings. Through the experiments, the durability limit of the coating can be assessed. Similar to the forming limit diagram, the durability limit diagram can be constructed and used to predict the coating performance of pre-coated sheet metal in complex stamping.
