Biochemical variation and genic similarity of myotis velifer and macrotus californicus. Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • 1. 1. Allozymic data for 17 gene loci were used to derive heterozygosity estimates for two bat species, Myotis velifer (H = 0144) and Macrotus californicus (H = 0030). 2. 2. The high heterozygosity value for M. velifer can probably be best attributed to differential selection between sexes. 3. 3. The two species, representatives of two distinct families, share no alleles at the loci studied. 1975.
