abstract
In this paper we study the effect of time lags on sequencing decisions. Two-machine flowshop case is considered. Time lags are used to model setup times, removal times, overlapping operations, transport delays, etc. The effect of overlapping operations is measured empirically via the distributions of average performance and worst-case-performance bounds.
