abstract
TTI, Inc., a distributor of passive electronic components, provided students in an Industrial Distribution course with the opportunity to participate in a "live" project. Students in the course would visit TTI and study their logistics system, then research state-of-the-art logistics methods for comparison. After evaluating TTI's current logistics practices, students would make recommendations for improving or maintaining existing company operations. As this paper will demonstrate, the project was unique in several respects. In addition to providing real-world experience, it involved the entire class in a single project, quite a task for classes of up to fifty students.
