Nonlinear magneto-optical rotation of elliptically polarized light

An elliptically-dependent nonlinear magneto-optic rotation (NMOR) of elliptically polarized light propagating in a medium with atomic coherence was studied. The multiphoton processes were responsible for the creation of the high-order ground state coherence resulting in elliptically-dependent nonlinear magneto-optical rotation. Simple analytical expressions for the rotation were derived for the M interaction scheme.
