abstract
It has been recently reported that not only the extrinsic axon regeneration inhibitory factors but also the intrinsic axonal growth capability contribute in regeneration of damaged central nervous system axons. We have utilized a compartmentalized neural culture platform where axotomy can be easily performed on axons growing in straight lines for performing localized biomolecular treatments toward screening of potential drugs that promote axon regeneration.
