Raman spectroscopy compatible PDMS droplet microfluidic culture and analysis platform for on-chip lipidomics Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Here we present a method that allows the use of Raman spectroscopy with a PDMS droplet microfluidics-based microalgae analysis platform, where label-free in vivo lipid analysis of microalgae in droplets can be conducted at multiple time points. Raman spectral background of PDMS as well as compatibility between Raman spectroscopy and droplet microfluidic platforms were investigated. Different levels of lipid accumulation in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells under different levels of nitrogen starvation was successfully analyzed through a time-course Raman spectroscopic measurement.
