abstract
Coherent optical driving of electronic transitions can provide amplification without inversion (AWI) at gamma-ray nuclear transition in cases when the structure of the electronic levels is essentially modified by excitation of nucleus. Two concrete physical models providing the necessary symmetry breaking via isomeric shift and hyperfine splitting was analyzed. The first model takes into account electrostatic interaction of nucleus with S-electron, while the second model is based on coupling of nuclear spin with the angular momentum of the electron. The conditions for realization of basic AWI schemes for each of the physical models were analyzed and demonstrated the principal possibility of inversionless amplification in such systems.
