Superallowed log ft values for transitions between T = 3 2 analogue states Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • The log ft values have been measured for a number of +-decay branches from the delayed proton precursors 21Mg, 25Si, 29S, 33Ar and 37Ca by comparing the intensity of peaks in their delayed proton spectra with that of peaks in the spectrum following the decay of 17Ne. In particular, each decay has a superallowed branch from the (T, Tz) = ( 3 2, -3 2) precursor ground state to the ( 3 2, -1 2) analogue level in its daughter nucleus. The measured log ft values for these branches agree quite well with calculations and are, in order, 2.9, 3.0, 3.1, 3.6 and 3.3, all values being 0.3. 1966.
