abstract
The [Formula Presented] decay of [Formula Presented]K is studied in detail. Several new [Formula Presented] decay branches and [Formula Presented]-ray transitions are assigned to this nucleus. The [Formula Presented]-forbidden [Formula Presented] Gamow-Teller branch to the first excited state in [Formula Presented]Ar is observed for the first time and its branching ratio measured to be [Formula Presented]. Such [Formula Presented]-forbidden branches are very sensitive to extranucleonic effects such as meson-exchange currents and [Formula Presented]-isobar excitations. A calculation of these as well as core-polarization and relativistic effects, predict branching ratios of [Formula Presented] with universal [Formula Presented]-[Formula Presented] wave functions and [Formula Presented] with Chung-Wildenthal wave functions. 1997 The American Physical Society.
