abstract

  • We report a study of the [Formula Presented] decay of [Formula Presented] whose dominant branch is a superallowed [Formula Presented] transition to the ground state of [Formula Presented] We find the total half-life to be [Formula Presented] This is the first time that the [Formula Presented] half-life has been measured with a purified source. We find that [Formula Presented] of the [Formula Presented] decays are followed by [Formula Presented] cascades that pass through the [Formula Presented] first excited state at 0.954 MeV. The branching ratio to the first-excited [Formula Presented] state in [Formula Presented] at 2.33 MeV is [Formula Presented] We conclude that the branching ratio for the superallowed transition is [Formula Presented]. 2003 The American Physical Society.
