abstract
After 18 years the outer parts of the ejecta of SN1987A are interacting with the inner ring. This ejecta-ring interaction is the source of most of the activity associated with the supernova. The physical effects are detectable at all accessible wavelengths. Some of these are described with particular focus on IR radiation associated with dust. 2007 American Institute of Physics.
